Steep vape juice or steeping is the process that allows the individual e-juice ingredients to absorb oxygen and bind to each other. This is usually defined as adding solids to water to soften or extract flavor – for example, brewing tea or marinating meat. When it comes to steep vape juice, this word takes on a slightly different meaning. A more appropriate term would be “aging” of your e-juice.
There is no solid in the vape liquid. The four ingredients of e-juice include flavor, nicotine, propylene glycol (PG), and vegetable glycerin (VG). When the vape liquid is steeped, as the flavors continue to remain in the PG-VG blend, they distribute their aroma more fully and the traces of alcohol evaporate.
How to Steep vape juice
Now that you know what does steep vape juice is and what it is used for, let’s take a look at how you steep juice. From what we’ve already covered, it might seem obvious that steeping in vape involves resting the vaping liquid, but there are actually several methods for e-juice steeping and different options may take longer than others. You’ve probably already guessed that the traditional and easiest way to steep vape juice is to soak it in a cool, dark place for several days or even weeks, depending on your preference.
Make sure the liquid is not exposed to direct light, as this can spoil it. Stir the liquid from time to time and remove the cap to expose the liquid to air and oxidize the mixture. Do not leave the mixture in the air for too long as it will evaporate. Different steeping times are recommended for different tastes. Fruit flavors take no more than two weeks to infuse, while tobacco flavors may take slightly longer. There is no set time for steep vape juice or various vape e-liquids, as it largely depends on the user’s taste preferences.
Various ways to steep e-liquid
Breathing is the preferred method for steep vape juice. If you think your liquids are strong, harsh or chemical, this method can significantly improve your e-liquid. This can be done by simply removing the cap and placing it in a cool, dark place.
Crockpot (super fast cool)
This method can be used in a hospital or as a last resort to steep vape juice. The slow cooker can be used for 2-8 hours to infuse more persistent e-liquids that take longer, such as tobacco and dessert aromas. Pour a few cups of water into the multicooker and set the multicooker to a low setting.
Using the same principle as in the multicooker, you can use another common household appliance for heating to steep vape juice. Place the e-juice bottles in a bag without air access and set the fan to a gentle blow on the bag for 20 minutes.
Whether you prefer making your own vape juice or buying vape it off the shelves, Steeping in vape can be the final touch an e-liquid needs to become your all-day-vape. And while everything happens on a molecular level, it can be more art than science, especially if you’re in no rush.
